Wolborough Court is a purpose-built residential care home in Newton Abbot, thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, accessibility and peace of mind. With just 24 ensuite bedrooms, we offer all the benefits of a modern care home while maintaining the warm, friendly atmosphere of a much smaller community.
Every part of the home has been designed to support independence while creating a safe, welcoming environment. Our spacious layout includes wide, level corridors, a large comfortable lounge, a dedicated activities room, two dining rooms and a sunny terrace where residents can relax with family and friends or simply enjoy the fresh air.

What really makes Wolborough Court special is our size. With only 24 residents, our team has the time to build genuine relationships and get to know each person as an individual. We understand routines, preferences, life stories and the little things that make a real difference to daily life.

We support older people with a range of care needs, including those living with frailty and mild to moderate dementia, always encouraging independence while providing reassurance and support when it's needed.

Our manager isn’t a distant figure—you’ll see them regularly, involved in day-to-day life. Whether you have a question, concern, or simply want to chat, you’ll know exactly who to turn to. It’s this hands-on approach that helps us build strong, lasting relationships with every resident and their loved ones.
Hi, I'm Lisa, and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you to Wolborough Court!
My journey into care has been one I wouldn't trade for the world. I spent five wonderful years working with young adults with autism and special needs — an experience that shaped me into the compassionate, patient, and people-first professional I am today. That passion for making a genuine difference in people's lives never left me, and it naturally led me into the world of elderly care.
I've been lucky enough to grow within this incredible organisation, starting as a Senior at our sister home, working my way up to Deputy Manager, and now — I am so proud to say — stepping into the role of Home Manager here at Wolborough Court!
That journey means I understand this world from the ground up, and I bring every bit of that experience with me every single day.
My promise to you is simple — warmth, dedication, and a home where you truly feel at home. Every resident here matters deeply, and I will always make sure that shines through in everything we do.

At Wolborough Court, we’ve created a warm and welcoming environment designed to feel like home from the moment you arrive. With 24 bedrooms, the majority of which are en-suite, and a range of thoughtfully designed communal spaces, our home offers comfort, privacy, and the opportunity to connect with others.
Each bedroom is carefully decorated in calming tones and fully furnished to provide a peaceful, private space where residents can relax and unwind. We encourage everyone to personalise their rooms with photos, mementos, and favourite pieces to make it truly feel like their own.

Our accommodation extends far beyond the bedroom. Residents have access to 2 comfortable lounges and 2 bright, spacious dining rooms — ideal settings for socialising, enjoying meals, or simply spending time with visitors. These shared spaces are the heart of the home, designed to foster companionship and community while offering plenty of room for individual choice and quiet moments.
Outside, a secure and beautifully maintained garden offers a tranquil space to enjoy the outdoors. Whether it’s a stroll among the flowers, catching up with family, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon with a cup of tea, the garden provides a peaceful escape and regular opportunities for seasonal activities.

Residents enjoy a choice of dishes and, where appropriate, can pair meals with a glass of red or white wine. We also run themed culinary experiences like Tasty Tuesdays and Fun Fridays, offering bite-sized treats from around the world — from mini Mexican tacos to Indian samosas and Chinese spring rolls.
