Devon and Cornwall Care Record Privacy Notice*

Health and social care organisations in Devon and Cornwall use a shared system called the Devon and Cornwall Care Record. This system allows health and care professionals to access relevant patient information quickly and securely, helping to improve the quality and safety of care you receive.

The shared record may be used during routine appointments as well as in urgent situations, such as attending A&E, calling NHS 111, or visiting an out-of-hours service. Having access to your shared record means professionals don’t need to spend time contacting other services for information, which speeds up your care.

Only authorised health and care staff are able to view the Devon and Cornwall Care Record. Access is carefully controlled and limited to the information necessary for their role. The system does not share all of your records, only the agreed information needed for your care.
