Beechwood is a warm, friendly care home in Somerset where everyone is known by name and cared for as an individual. With 27 rooms all on one floor, we’re just the right size. Small enough to feel like family, but big enough to offer choice, comfort and specialist support when it’s needed.
Life here has a lovely rhythm. The home is easy to get around as we’re just one floor, with light, open spaces. Most bedrooms look out over our central garden, a favourite place to sit with a cup of tea, watch the birds or help pick apples that end up in our homemade desserts.
We offer day care, respite and long-term stays, and we put a lot of thought into making sure every day feels meaningful. Through our Life Enrichment / Activities programme, residents enjoy activities that suit them, whether that’s gardening, crafts, dancing at our silent disco or trying new dishes from our taster menus. It’s about doing things that bring joy and a sense of purpose, not just passing the time.
What really makes Beechwood special is the people. The manager is hands-on and visible, you will often see them chatting with residents, joining activities or sharing a laugh. Families and residents having direct access to the manager makes such a huge difference to our outcomes. Our team are highly trained, kind, down-to-earth and genuinely care about what matters to each resident.
At Beechwood, no one gets lost in the crowd. It’s a home where you can feel comfortable, connected and free to be yourself with good company, great care and new experiences every day.

As a smaller care home, we are able to create a warm, family-like environment where residents, staff, and families feel truly at home. Our manager isn’t a distant figure—you’ll see them regularly, involved in day-to-day life. Whether you have a question, concern, or simply want to chat, you’ll know exactly who to turn to. It’s this hands-on approach that helps us build strong, lasting relationships with every resident and their loved ones.

I’m Darius, and it’s a real privilege to manage such a caring and vibrant community.
For me, working in care has never been just a job – it’s a genuine passion. From the moment I first stepped into this sector, I knew I wanted to help create a place where people could truly feel valued, supported, and at peace.
What I love most about our home is the atmosphere – there’s always laughter in the corridors, a friendly face nearby, and a sense of belonging that you can feel the moment you walk in. Every resident here has their own story, and it’s our role to make sure those stories continue to grow with joy, dignity, and purpose.
A key part of my philosophy is life enrichment. I believe that moving into care should open new doors, not close them. Whether it’s discovering a new hobby, revisiting a long-forgotten passion, or simply sharing a moment of laughter with friends, every experience should bring fulfilment and meaning to our residents’ lives.
I’m fortunate to work alongside an incredible team who share the same values. Together, we’re dedicated to ensuring our home is not only safe and supportive, but also full of life, laughter, and heart.

At Beechwood, we’ve created a warm and welcoming environment designed to feel like home from the moment you arrive. With 27 bedrooms, the majority of which are en-suite, and a range of thoughtfully designed communal spaces, our home offers comfort, privacy, and the opportunity to connect with others.
Each bedroom is carefully decorated in calming tones and fully furnished to provide a peaceful, private space where residents can relax and unwind. We encourage everyone to personalise their rooms with photos, mementos, and favourite pieces to make it truly feel like their own.

Our accommodation extends far beyond the bedroom. Residents have access to 2 comfortable lounges and 2 bright, spacious dining rooms — ideal settings for socialising, enjoying meals, or simply spending time with visitors. These shared spaces are the heart of the home, designed to foster companionship and community while offering plenty of room for individual choice and quiet moments.
Outside, a secure and beautifully maintained garden offers a tranquil space to enjoy the outdoors. Whether it’s a stroll among the flowers, catching up with family, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon with a cup of tea, the garden provides a peaceful escape and regular opportunities for seasonal activities.
Whether you prefer quiet time in your room, group activities with friends, or fresh air in the garden, our accommodation is built around your comfort, choice, and wellbeing.
We believe that life in our home should be vibrant, fulfilling, and full of opportunity. That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on wellbeing — physical, emotional, and social. Our activities programme is carefully curated to offer a rich mix of experiences tailored to individual interests and abilities. From sing-alongs and arts & crafts to light exercise classes, gardening, and quiet one-to-one sessions, there’s something for everyone.
Activities are more than just a schedule — they’re woven into our daily care. Our team members take time to connect personally with residents, encouraging involvement and supporting those who may be shy at first to find their spark.
We also welcome visiting entertainers, local school groups, and regularly organise community outings, helping residents stay connected with the world around them.

Mealtimes are about more than nutrition — they’re a highlight of the day. Our kitchen team prepares a variety of traditional and modern meals using fresh, nutritious ingredients delivered twice weekly..
Residents enjoy a choice of dishes and, where appropriate, can pair meals with a glass of red or white wine. We also run themed culinary experiences like Tasty Tuesdays and Fun Fridays, offering bite-sized treats from around the world — from mini Mexican tacos to Indian samosas and Chinese spring rolls.
